Congratulations to Deacon Paul Bezaire, who has been named the Director of Permanent Deacons for the Diocese of London. Deacon Paul will remain with our Family of Parishes in addition to his new role.

It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Deacon Paul Bezaire to the position of Director of Permanent Deacons effective 1 January 2021.

Deacon Paul has spent the majority of his career as a named partner at Bezaire Partners which is a firm that provides project management, planning and mediation services in the greater Windsor/Essex area. His activities in volunteering and serving both his faith community and the community at large are impressive, and include several years as a board member at Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and St. Patrick’s/Assumption Parish Community Association.

Deacon Paul was ordained a permanent deacon in 2013. Over the last eight years, he has been assigned to Assumption Parish in Windsor where he has fully immersed himself in the ongoing activities of the parish and community. He has worked with the pastoral team at Assumption for the development and launch of Assumption Cares, a missionary outreach program for the underserviced and underprivileged people in and around Assumption Parish and the west end of Windsor.

In 2020, he was assigned to the Windsor Heritage Catholic Family of Parishes. He is an active member in both the National Association of Diaconal Directors and the Ontario Catholic Association of Diaconal Leaders.

Deacon Paul is celebrating 42 years of marriage to Marlene. They have been blessed with three children and three grandchildren (with one on the way).

As Director of Permanent Deacons, Deacon Paul will work in collaboration with, and on behalf of, Bishop Dabrowski and me. He looks forward to serving the seventy-three deacons in the diocese by providing support, administration, ongoing formation, and pastoral care. He will serve as a member of the Personnel Team of the Diocese and as a member of the Priest Personnel Board. Please join me in welcoming Deacon Paul as he takes on this important role within our Diocese.

Most Rev. Ronald P. Fabbro, CSB
Bishop of London
