I’ve been “missing in action” lately and want to bring you up to date. I recently came to stay in a house owned by Assumption University, for my annual retreat. Normally it would be in California, but this year it was on zoom, so I came here to be outside my normal routine. Last Thursday evening (Jan 21) I started getting chills and fever, and Friday I went for a covid test. That showed negative, so my doctor started running other tests, bloodwork, etc. He had me take a second test, and today the results came back: positive for COVID-19.
I have already been isolating since symptoms began and will continue to do so. Please know how much I miss doing ministry, and how much I look forward to being over this. I am deeply moved by the outpouring of care and concern from so many of you. Keep me in your prayer, and know that you are in mine.

Ultimamente sono stato “disperso in azione” e voglio aggiornarvi. Recentemente sono venuto a stare in una casa di proprietà della Assumption University, per il mio ritiro annuale. Normalmente sarebbe in California, ma quest’anno era sullo zoom, così sono venuto qui per essere fuori dalla mia normale attività. Lo scorso giovedì sera (21 gennaio) ho iniziato ad avere brividi e febbre, e venerdì sono andato a fare un test del covid. Questo è risultato negativo, così il mio medico ha iniziato a fare altri test, analisi del sangue, ecc. Mi ha fatto fare un secondo test e oggi sono arrivati i risultati: positivo al COVID-19.
Mi sono già isolata dall’inizio dei sintomi e continuerò a farlo. Vi prego di sapere quanto mi manca fare il ministero e quanto non vedo l’ora di superare tutto questo. Sono profondamente commosso dall’effusione di cura e preoccupazione da parte di così tanti di voi. Tenetemi nelle vostre preghiere e sappiate che siete nelle mie.
