Dear Parishioners of the Windsor Heritage Catholic Family of Parishes,

On Monday, the Government of Ontario announced that step one of the reopening plan is going to begin this Friday, June 11. There were several changes to this plan from what was previously announced- including a change which allows Churches to open at 15% of their maximum capacity, which previously was not supposed to happen until step two.

This news, while welcome, puts us in a position where we have rapidly discovered how difficult it is to reopen three churches in short order. All of our timelines and our plans were based on reopening happening sometime in the first or second week of July. Now, we find ourselves needing to rapidly accelerate our plans- and unfortunately, we have found that there is just not enough time to be prepared to open on the 11th of June, or to open for in-person Mass this coming weekend, June 12 and 13.

Therefore, following guidance from Bishop Fabbro, who states that “Those parishes and communities that will not be ready to reopen this weekend may delay opening as required,” and after consultation with our staff, I have determined that our reopening schedule will be as follows:

Monday, June 14, 2021. In-person Daily Masses will resume

The weekend of June 19-20: Weekend Masses will resume.

Reservations will continue to be required for weekend Masses. Daily Masses will continue to be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

We will communicate more details regarding changes to the reservation schedule in the coming days. Thank you for bearing with us while we work to ensure a smooth reopening of our Churches.

In Christ,

Fr. Steven Huber, CSB
